Physical Education Class Safety Tips Part 11 (Dance, Dodge Ball, Tag

Dance or rhythmic activity refers to the movement of the body. As an art form, it is usually used as a means of social expression and uses music as one of its major elements. Dance as an activity can be presented either in spiritual or performance setting.

Dance may also be regarded as a form of nonverbal communication between human beings, either as individuals or as a group. Dance also represents culture, and it is universal in terms of expression.

Definitions of what constitutes dance are dependent on social, cultural, aesthetic, artistic, and moral constraints and range from functional movement to virtuoso techniques such as ballet. Dance can be participatory, social or performed for an audience; it can also be ceremonial. Dancing has evolved into many styles like break dancing and krumping which are related to the hip hop culture. African dance is interpretative. Ballet, Ballroom, Waltz, and Tango are classical styles of dance while square dance and the electric slide are forms of step dances.
